For practitioners
TBoard for practitioners
If you work with spellers, contact us to arrange practitioner access and discuss your needs. Use TBoard in session, and families can try the same board on their own tablet for 7 days before deciding.
Say which practice you're with and how you'd like to use TBoard. We'll discuss suitable access arrangements with you.
Why a tablet, when the boards already work
The boards work. That's the point — nothing here asks a speller to relearn a layout. What a tablet adds is three things the laminate can't: speech, so the message is heard by someone who wasn't holding the board; a record, so you can see accuracy and letter-by-letter patterns over time instead of remembering them; and practice between sessions, which is where most of the week goes.
The board the speller already knows
Three-stencil layouts, the full 26-letter board, QWERTY, and numbers ship with the app. The board builder recreates whatever arrangement a person is fluent on, at whatever size works — or you can photograph a paper board and build from the photo. Position is muscle memory, so the layout stays exactly where their hands expect it.
Built around motor difficulty
For a lot of spellers the barrier is hitting the target, not knowing the word. A key can fire the moment a finger lands or when it lifts, whichever suits the person. A tap guard ignores accidental repeat taps. Targets are large and well spaced, wrong taps clear in one tap, and every letter can speak as it's pressed.
Independence, stated plainly
The speller taps every letter themselves. There is no facilitation in the app, no physical support, and no one else's hand in the message. A typed message that speaks aloud, produced by the person alone, is a message that travels — to a teacher, a doctor, a grandparent who has never held a board.
TBoard is independent and method-neutral. It is not affiliated with, certified by, or endorsed by Spelling to Communicate, the Spellers Method, RPM, I-ASC, or any other named methodology or organisation. It is not therapy and makes no treatment claims.
What the family gets between sessions
Three fresh read-along lessons every day at three levels, with spelling targets and open questions a parent can run with no preparation. Practice rounds. A session record — accuracy, first-try answers, letter-by-letter patterns. And a lesson builder: photograph a worksheet, a book page, or a page of your own material, and it becomes a graded spelling lesson on their board.
If you'd rather see the content before the app, the free lesson library has complete lessons to read, print as a worksheet, or try in a browser without installing anything.
What it costs the family
Families get every feature free for seven days, then one purchase of $49.99 keeps all of it — the board, the speech, custom boards, lessons, practice, the progress record, premium voices and family messaging. It is not a subscription and nothing renews. Nothing is gated behind a practitioner.
Common questions
Do I have to recommend it? No. Use it if it's useful and say nothing if it isn't. There's no affiliate scheme, no referral code, and nothing to sign.
Can I put it on a practice iPad several spellers use? Yes. Profiles keep each speller's boards, lessons and history separate on one device.
What if a family can't afford the paid part? Contact us to discuss their situation and possible access options.
