So this is TBoard. It's a letterboard app built with persons with apraxia in mind. So if you're used to the boards like these, like these laminates that a lot of us use, I've structured ours based off of that. My brother is a nonspeaking speller and I built this for him and it has a lot of features in it that make it a lot easier for him to use. He really struggled with touchscreens and tablets before. I didn't think he was going to be able to use one, but I wanted him to have more control over his own spelling and typing, like being able to, like edit what he was maybe typing if he made a mistake, be able to see what's up there as he's going along. So it's not so much of it is on me, especially considering I really struggled with keeping everything in my head all at once. One of the things that he really struggled with at first that I noticed is with regular keyboards on touchscreens, typically the key won't actually release or enter until you release your finger. So if you swipe or if you move or something weird happens like that, it's just not, it's finicky, which is fine, because you need to be able to do that to swipe around and stuff. But this is fixed board with no swiping. And so I made it more like a mechanical keyboard, which is great, but the keys are too small for my brother to actually with a fine motor to be able to actually touch and use. So here, as soon as you press it inputs right away, so if the finger slips or slides or anything like that, it's going to be OK. [App] Hello. And so that was one thing. And then another thing is like kind of double tapping, accidentally double tapping if the finger slips can just cause a cascade of problems and cause a lot of frustration for them. and make spelling really difficult. Well, you can have a toggle on a Tap Guard that makes it so that's not going to happen quite as often. And then finally, for more feedback, you can see there's some visual feedback here. You can see it come up in the text bar, which is really helpful instead of having to say everything out loud and keep it very abstract in your head. But we got really used to spelling with him saying each letter, having that audio or audible feedback. So I have that built in here as well. So H-E-L-L-O. Hello. All right. So that's just if you like that or if you've been doing that. I know some people may not, but it's helpful for us. And all these are customizable exactly how you want it done. how it works if you want to toggle them on or off, whatever works for you. it has all the voices that are on your iPad and also some that we added that are a little bit less grating at times. They're offline or you can use your device's Personal Voice settings as well. And it doesn't just have these boards that you're used to. Like the 3-stencil like you might have seen like a lot of spellers use. Or even a more advanced QWERTY board that has everything kind of together. You can also build your own boards here. Any kind of format you want. So there's a bunch of different ways to do it. I'm just gonna show you a little bit that here. So you can do letters, words, phrases, and it's really easy to do. And you can just like kind of edit it and slide it around quite well if you want to. you can change the color if you want it to have a color, if you want things to be bigger. I mean, all that kind of stuff, you can, adjust and change and everything else. So, but you can also, there's icons on here if you just want to have something quick to throw on. If you're really still doing a lot of the AAC stuff, you can even choose stuff from your photo library or you could take a picture. So I'm going to try to showcase that for you right now. Just grab the camera, hold it up. I'm just gonna put a book down here in the picture. You can just have whatever you want. Okay, great. And save it. [App] Read. [App] Book. [App] Okay, there we go. Alright, cool. So this app comes pre-installed with lessons actually. There's new ones every day as you can see here for three different tiers. All different sorts of topics and everything else. So you can just go through those and see what you like. There's always something new. But if you maybe have some lessons you like working with or your own or maybe even something from school you can build your own just like the board. So I'm gonna show you that here real quick. So you can import a file or a PDF or even just type it out or however you want to do it. If you have like a worksheet from school or something I'm gonna show you that real quick so. Alright so we're just gonna take a picture real quick. So go ahead just use your passage, save it. You can choose our spell word. We'll go butterfly. And it recognizes there in the text. There's your spell word. You can do questions. We'll do a known question. And then when you can choose it, you can choose it straight out of here if you want to make sure it's accurate just like that and it's actually targeted. So we'll just save that right here. And it plays just like any other lesson structured in with the board. We'll do this one. We'll turn these on for you. Okay. So it'll play just like any other lesson. [App] A butterfly. [App] B-U-T-T-E-R-F-L-Y [App] is not born with wings. Okay, so it'll go just like that. [App] Spell the word butterfly. And I got the auto board swap turned on here, so you can just see how that works too. And when you make an error also it will correct it for you. So it knows the word and the target that you're going for. [App] Butterfly. [App] What is a butterfly born without? It's like that and it'll track the progress just like any other lesson you have. And see what your accuracy was and all that stored in here. Those are just some of the customization options you can have with the app. So you can see where you're at and how everything's going and make it yours.
