Terms of Service
TBoard โ effective February 17, 2026. Last updated August 16, 2026.
By creating an account or using TBoard, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
About the service
TBoard is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed for individuals who communicate through typing, spelling, or letter selection. It includes a letterboard interface, text-to-speech, educational lessons, and a closed-circle messaging system that allows communication between approved contacts.
Account registration
- You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account. If you are setting up TBoard for a communicator under 13, the account must be created and managed by a parent, guardian, or authorized professional.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- Each person should have only one account.
Communication circles
Messaging in TBoard works through invite-only circles. A communicator creates a circle and invites support persons using a unique code. Messages can only be sent between members of the same circle. You may not share invite codes publicly or invite people you do not know.
Acceptable use
When using TBoard, you agree not to:
- Send harassing, threatening, or abusive messages.
- Share illegal content or use the app for illegal activity.
- Impersonate another person.
- Attempt to access accounts or data that is not yours.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service.
Voice synthesis
TBoard’s offline voices are generated on your device by the Supertonic (supertonic-3) text-to-speech model, © Supertone Inc., provided under the BigScience Open RAIL-M License. That license permits everyday personal and commercial use but prohibits a specific list of harmful uses of the model and of audio generated with it — for example impersonating others without their consent, exploiting or harming minors, spreading disinformation, or providing medical advice. By using TBoard’s voice features you agree to comply with these use restrictions, which are set out in full in Attachment A of the license and reproduced in the app under Settings → Acknowledgements.
Reporting
If you receive a message that violates these terms, you can report it by long-pressing on the message. We review reports and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies.
User-generated content and moderation
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior in TBoard messaging. You may not send content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, illegal, or otherwise objectionable.
Long-press any received message to report it. You can block the sender the same way, or from the Block button in that conversation. Blocking ends all shared conversations: a circle owner removes the blocked member, while an invited partner leaves the circle. We review reports and respond as promptly as reasonably possible. We may remove content or suspend or terminate the responsible account.
Content responsibility
You are responsible for the messages you send. TBoard applies a limited automated filter to clearly abusive language before a cloud message is sent. This filter does not routinely monitor or review your conversations, and we will also act on reports of violations.
Account termination
You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.
Subscriptions
TBoard's core communication tools โ the letterboards, text-to-speech, two custom boards, and the Scrapbook โ are available without Premium. A TBoard Premium subscription unlocks additional features. Full subscription details are described in our Subscription Terms.
