Terms of Service
TBoard — effective February 17, 2026. Last updated June 22, 2026.
By creating an account or using TBoard, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
About the service
TBoard is an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) app designed for individuals who communicate through typing, spelling, or letter selection. It includes a letterboard interface, text-to-speech, educational lessons, and a closed-circle messaging system that allows communication between approved contacts.
Account registration
- You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account. If you are setting up TBoard for a communicator under 13, the account must be created and managed by a parent, guardian, or authorized professional.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- Each person should have only one account.
Communication circles
Messaging in TBoard works through invite-only circles. A communicator creates a circle and invites support persons using a unique code. Messages can only be sent between members of the same circle. You may not share invite codes publicly or invite people you do not know.
Acceptable use
When using TBoard, you agree not to:
- Send harassing, threatening, or abusive messages.
- Share illegal content or use the app for illegal activity.
- Impersonate another person.
- Attempt to access accounts or data that is not yours.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service.
Reporting
If you receive a message that violates these terms, you can report it by long-pressing on the message. We review reports and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies.
User-generated content and moderation
TBoard's messaging lets members of a circle send each other content. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. By using the messaging features, you agree not to send content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable, and not to abuse other members.
Every message can be reported by long-pressing it, and you can block any member so their messages no longer reach you. We review reports of objectionable content and act on them — typically within 24 hours — by removing the content and, where warranted, suspending or removing the account responsible.
Content responsibility
You are responsible for the messages you send. We do not monitor or filter message content in real time, but we will act on reports of violations.
Account termination
You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.
Subscriptions
TBoard's core communication tools — the letterboard, text-to-speech, basic saved phrases, basic board customization, and the Board Builder — are free and do not require a subscription. A TBoard Premium subscription unlocks additional features. Full subscription details are described in our Subscription Terms.
